Antique 19th Century 3-Tier Shaker-Style Wooden Sewing Box & Spool Cabinet with Vintage Notions Lot - Estate Find

Up for resale is an exceptional, completely intact piece of 19th-century folk art: an Antique 3-Tiered Spool Dispenser Sewing Box, accompanied by a delightful curated lot of vintage sewing notions.

Often referred to as a Shaker-style or sailor-made tower box, this desktop sewing caddy is highly prized by collectors for its architectural utility and craftsmanship. The modular top tier lifts out completely to reveal an internal spool storage area equipped with vintage wooden/metal placement pins. The lower section houses a smooth-sliding storage drawer with a turned wooden pull knob.

Key Architectural & Material Features:

  • Bone Eyelets: Features 5 beautiful, flush-set polished bone guide rings along the front facade, serving as individual thread-feeding ports.
  • Gothic Corner Finials: Accented with hand-carved, steeple-style wooden finials detailing each corner tier level.
  • Integrated Pincushion: Topped with a plush, elevated fabric pincushion functioning as an easy-access station for needles and pins.
  • Curated Collector Notions: Includes everything shown in the secondary image breakdown: a vintage J&P Coats circular needle dispenser, Beacon darning thread cards, antique Lorrainepackaging, various paper tags, and an assortment of loose vintage spools and cards.

Condition:

Excellent antique "as-found" estate condition. The wood retains a warm, deep patina with minor surface oxidation and honest wear consistent with age and active use. Structurally sound. No missing finials or cracked eyelets. All drawers and lids open smoothly. Notions are well-preserved inside clean storage bags. Please review photos for exact structural details.
